Independent Living

Our ambition for all of our Residents is that they become financially independent and have a home of their own.

Once the Resident has successfully completed their unique Personal Development Plan and gained employment, it is time for them to progress away from the Centre. Recycling Lives assist the Resident in finding a self-contained home either independently from the private sector or with an approved Housing Partner or a Registered Social Landlord (RSL).

Our Resident was once homeless, isolated and perhaps vulnerable

After completing the Recycling Lives programme they have successfully achieved an alternative future. They have gained:

• Stable employment
• Independent Living in their own home
• Qualifications and training
• Better social understanding
• The skills to live independently as a contributing member of society

They have broken the cycle of homelessness and worklessness

The Resident is now contributing to society in a positive manner, paying National Insurance and Tax and earning money that is then spent in the local economy. They are no longer claiming benefits. They have attained their alternative future

This independence could not have been achieved by the Resident without the support and guidance from Corporate Partners and supporters.
