Frank – Supper’s Up

For Frank, the connection and community Supper’s Up offers is as important as the meal. He’s been experiencing loneliness since he was widowed.
He met Naomi, our CFM Coordinator and co-founder of the soup kitchen, at another charity group and felt encouraged to come along. Now it’s a highlight of his week.

He said: “Since my wife died I have been on my own. We were together for 50 years and I didn’t know how to cope. Now I look forward to every Wednesday. Often I am very lonely, but when I come here, I’m not.
“I can meet people and have a chat somewhere warm with a brew. It is hard for the elderly right now. I just want to be warm and around other people. It is good to get some food that is a proper meal too, and it is always delicious. Everybody here is so nice.”
