Darren Ingram, Baxi

Baxi Heating UK Ltd is one of our supplier partners, outsourcing some of its waste management needs to our community-based recycling workshop. The team in the workshop process waste to increase recycle rates, creating meaningful work and training placements to ex-offenders.

“We find working with Recycling Lives Charity a very inspiring and rewarding process,” says Darren Ingram, Operations Director for Baxi. “Their work rehabilitating ex-offenders is a very ethical concept and one which Baxi is proud to support.

“Our partnership with the Charity was an evolution of the business contract we had for waste removal on our site handled by the business side of Recycling Lives. We now have a commercial relationship with the Charity to process our engineers returns.

“The Charity’s team complete two key jobs for us in their community recycling workshop. By breaking down and separating waste from our engineers they maximise recyclability and reuse. And by stripping and refoaming cylinders for us, they prevent waste, as we don’t have to scrap every cylinder with a quality issue.

“In theory, we could do this without the Charity, however they are the right partner for us because they not only have a focus of sustainability – which is one of our core values – but also a focus on people and rehabilitating ex-offenders, reestablishing their purpose and the value they can add back into society.

“We hope to continue our strong working relationship for years to come.”
