Give a great gift...

Support our Food Redistribution Centre this Christmas.

We need extra donations of non-perishable food items to get out to communities across Lancashire & Cumbria this festive season.

As part of the national FareShare network, we receive surplus stock from supermarkets, producers and wholesalers to redistribute to charities and community groups. While this food is still coming in, there’s been a drop off in long-life items like pastas, cereals, tinned veg and jars of sauces.

Donating goods will help us to keep up with growing demand.

Goods you can donate

  • Tins, Cans & Jars

e.g tins of soup or fish, cans of vegetables or pulses, & jars of cooking sauces

  • Dried goods

e.g pasta, rice or noodles & cereals, oats or porridge

  • Long-life items

e.g long-life juices, milk or UHT, & tea bags or instant coffee

  • Toiletries

e.g toothbrushes, deodorant or sanitary items, & pet food

Feeding communities in need

We supply food and essential items to charitable groups across Lancashire & Cumbria. These range from school breakfast clubs to social supermarkets or food banks. Our 125+ member groups feed around 20,000 people every week, using food that would have otherwise been destined for landfill or incineration.

Demand for our food redistribution work has risen rapidly in recent years, as more and more people struggle with the cost-of-living. All goods donated are shared fairly between groups across the two counties. Donations will help us to not only keep pace with demand, but ensure the food we’re sending out to our members is the food communities really need.

“Where should I drop off items?”
Please bring any goods to: Recycling Lives Centre – main reception. 1A Essex Street, Preston, PR1 1QE

“What food items should I donate?”
The following items are always of use to our members, but are typically harder to source from our usual supply chain:

– Cereals, oats or instant porridge
– Tinned vegetables or pulses
– Tinned items, e.g fish, meats or pies, soups

"The magical thing that happens with the food is how it transforms into community, connection, and people improving their lives."
Grange-over-Sands Community Foodshare is one of the 125+ groups your donations could go to. It uses produce from our Food Redistribution Centre at its weekly food clubs and holiday activity clubs. The food is enjoyed by people who are working, older people, families and children, and refugees who would otherwise struggle to afford healthy, nutritious meals due to the rising cost-of-living.
